It is a legal requirement that all companies appoint a competent person to assist them in meeting their health and safety responsibilities. Many small to medium companies cannot afford to employ an in-house safety advisor or may have part time safety officers who would benefit from access to a greater level of knowledge and experience.

Our competent person support services are designed to help companies manage their own safety systems with the benefit of guidance and advice from qualified and experienced safety professionals as and when they need it.

As with all our services we are completely flexible but typical services can include

Drafting your company safety policy, procedures and rules, and revising them at appropriate intervals

Assisting with your general risk assessments and undertaking specialised assessments for fire, hazardous substances etc.

Providing monthly information updates specific to your company and industry

Carrying out periodic inspections or audits of your premises and systems

Writing employee handbooks and induction packages.

Drafting training programmes and providing tailored safety training.

Access to competent advice, guidance and support as and when you need it.

We can even act as mentors to in-house staff, helping them to set up your systems whilst gaining qualifications and experience themselves.

We will be happy to visit your company, discuss your needs and give you some options to consider. Whatever level of support you need, we are happy to provide it. We don’t tie you in to long-term contracts and will happily vary our input to suit your requirements.
